Programs

Henry Youth Performance Ensemble (HYPE)

Henry Youth Performance Ensemble (HYPE) empowers middle and high school students through hands-on theatre education. Meeting twice a month, this diverse group learns every aspect of stage and production, volunteers on our mainstage shows, and presents their own productions during school breaks and summer camps. HYPE nurtures a lifelong love of the arts by helping young performers build their skills, confidence, and creative voice.

As a nonprofit, we’re proud to offer monthly HYPE programming at no cost and summer camps at a low cost to families. Community support allows us to keep these opportunities accessible—and helps our young artists continue to grow, create, and inspire

Volunteering + Events

Volunteering for our county's Spotlight One-Act Festival!

Henry County’s best young thespians are featured each year during their annual Spotlight One-Act Festival.  This honor event is an annual event hosted at one of the HCS performing arts venues and showcases one act plays from each participating school.  All of our high schools are invited to participate in this two day honor event giving students real time to work on their craft in an actual theatre.  The students are also able to participate in break out sessions in a variety of areas that may interest them from musical theatre to improvisation.

The Henry Players had many volunteers that taught breakout sessions, ran activity tables, and hosted and informational booth so students could learn more about our program.
