Since our founding in 1984, the Lincoln Park Conservancy has engaged in historic conservation, ecological restoration, and park programming. We were the first public-private partnership in the Chicago Park District and the first park conservancy in the City of Chicago. As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, we operate under a formal agreement with the Chicago Park District to preserve, protect and enhance Lincoln Park.
After decades of erosion and damage, the Lily Pool was restored from 1998-2002 to Caldwell’s original design by the Chicago Park District and the Lincoln Park Conservancy. The Conservancy is proud to offer this natural sanctuary as a venue for your intimate wedding ceremony, proposal, or photography.
Dedicate a one of a kind historic park bench to your loved one at the Lincoln Monument Gardens or North Pond Nature Sanctuary.
Your dedication features a long-lasting bench with a design recreated from benches that were used throughout Lincoln Park beginning in the late-1800s; includes an arched armrest in the center and space on the side for a wheelchair or mobility scooter.
Join your colleagues for a productive walk around Chicago’s front yard. Enjoy Lincoln Park’s natural areas and view wildlife while working together to improve this crucial habitat. Afterwards, escape to the Lincoln Park Conservatory for an optional group tour (additional donation required), or head to Clark Street for lunch or coffee.
Ecological stewardship volunteers (formerly the North Pond Gardeners) go beyond gardening— they help our staff create more space for nature to thrive, maintain existing habitat, and enhance the park’s capacity to support diverse wildlife as well as human health and happiness.
